one week, two demos
The start of June has been a very very busy period for us. We’ve had to crunch hard to finish not one, but two demos as we had a few events for both Reason Unfound and Quetzal.
For Reason Unfound, we were part of the Steam Next Fest, so the demo needed to be finished and polished before the start. At one point we didn’t know if we were going to make it as the demo build review approval took longer than expected, but luckily, we got there!
For Quetzal, we were part of both the Latin American Games and the Women-led Games Steam events, so we wanted to have the new demo finished by then. And of course, both these events were happening at the same time as Next Fest, so the crunch was real to finish TWO DEMOS during the same week.
But hey, we did it! It was kind of cool that the two Steam events started just before Next Fest as it helped get traction for Reason Unfound. Overall, they were great events for wishlists and we’re happy with the outcome.
We’re also surprised and very grateful for the positive reception we’re getting on Reason Unfound. People are actually really enjoying the dark and weird humour we have blended into the horror game, and we’ve even received comments saying the game’s vibe is unique. This is really encouraging, especially because we have been working so hard for the past months that it got to a point that we were questioning if what we were making was good enough.
That’s how it is with game development, doubt spikes in and out, but in the end, we have so much fun making games that it’s worth it.
Both demos are available on Steam:
So now that we have released both demos, we’re back to regular development again, and we’re really excited on what we’re working on. We actually started a new prototype a few weeks ago, and we are extremely excited for this new game, but we won’t be sharing anything anytime soon.
